This safe and effective series provides participants with the groundwork and sequential experiences to better navigate the challenges of relationship and improve any kind of issues into healthy and beneficial connections and outcomes.
Who is it for?
The course is designed for couples and singles of any gender who may wish to improve or heal past, present or future relationships in healthy ways. Issues may include issues from past or present trauma, lack of healthy role-models, stress, mental health, negative experiences, struggles with emotional, psychological or physical conditions or simply wanting to generally improve their understanding of relating in different ways.
Week 1: Introductions. Getting to know each other. Guidelines for creating safe space. Practising Active Listening. Exercises for building trust.
Week 2: Splitting into Masculine and Feminine groups. Understanding the different Masculine and Feminine patterns of handling stress. Addictions and avoidance patterns. Understanding our own patterns around stress. Understanding the purposes of vulnerability and protection.
Week 3: Working with emotions. Understanding the difference between emotions and thoughts and behaviour patterns. Practising cycling through emotions.
Week 4: Exploring in separate Masculine and Feminine groups. Understanding triggers. Practising healthy ways to express anger, shame, guilt and other difficult emotions.
Week 5: Conscious communication. Practising expressing what we need without judgement and condemnation. Meeting our own needs. Self-nurture.
Week 6: Consolidation and integration. Where are we in our relationships now? Where do we go from here? What support do we need?
From week 3 onwards there will be opportunities each week for a facilitated process for one person to work on whatever is arising for them with the support of the whole group.
Phoenix Arrien has over 20 years experience, providing sacred transformation and healing spaces for people to transform, heal and self-discover. Her training and experience includes Aus indigenous healing, Native American & Sth American healing, Maori and Cherokee bodywork, dance/movement, Adventure-based Counselling, Process Work, Voice Dialogue, Healing Ecology, Deep Ecology, writing and meditation. She believes that safe space, sacred process, loving community and non-judgemental presence allows healing and transformation to emerge and deep profound change to occur.
Mike Lowe has over 20 years international experience leading transformational workshops in the areas of trustbuilding and reconciliation. He has worked with politicians and young leaders in Eastern Europe after the fall of communism and has worked with police and former militia leaders in Solomon Islands. His particular gift is in creating safe spaces in which transformation can occur, and he has a particular interest in earth-based spirituality, indigenous wisdom, Process Work, Focussing, Voice-Dialogue, Archetypes, and supporting the rise of healthy and authentic Masculine and Feminine energies as we transition from Patriarchal and colonial ways of being.
