Deep Changer – FAQs

How does a Payment plan work?

We offer an opportunity to discuss regular payments at an affordable rate for you to pay off the cost of the retreat. Please phone Phoenix on 0407 650026 or click here to contact us to discuss this.

What happens on weekends?

Weekends are free time to integrate. We will work from Monday to Friday each week, leaving the weekends without structure to relax and integrate in the beautiful surroundings. Food and accommodation is still provided. Echuca is 30 minutes away and there are the mighty Murray and Goulburn rivers as well as various State Forests nearby. There will be a 5% discount for people away for the weekends.

For people just doing the first 2 weeks, we will spend their final Saturday morning with integration and wrapping up sessions. Those completing the full 4 weeks will finish together at 4pm on Saturday 9th November.

What is the accommodation?

There is some limited accommodation in the Retreat House. Most accommodation will be in Teepees (five beds per Teepee) or you are welcome to bring your own tent or van and sleep in that (we will cover camping fees). If you want to upgrade to a cabin, you can contact Wakiti Creek Resort and book this (subject to availability) at a 20% discount price (if you mention that you are part of the IWC retreat) and we will also take off $140 per week from your retreat fees as we will not be paying your accommodation.

Are the meals vegetarian?

Yes they are.

Are dietary requirements offered?

Yes. We will do our best to accommodate all dietary requirements where possible.

How do I get there?

The venue is about 240km North of Melbourne, and 30 minutes drive East from Echuca. Directions will be sent upon booking. We encourage car-pooling for participants. There is also an option to take a train to Echuca and we can arrange a lift from there.

Melbourne Cup weekend

The Melbourne Cup runs over 2nd to 5th Nov. For Melbournians who need this time off to be with family etc, this is possible as there will be no structured program over these days as we are doing Soul Quest.

What is the Soul Quest?

Soul Quest is a chance to spend 24 or 48 hours spent in solitude, in nature with optional fasting (similar to Native American Vision Quests). Participants in previous years found this experience was a highlight of their retreat. There is plenty of preparation for Soul Quest. Those who choose to do it take with them just a sleeping mat, a mosquito net and water (and some food if not fasting).

What do I bring?

A full list of what to bring will be emailed when you book in. As well as comfortable clothing and bedding and a mat, we encourage people to bring musical instruments, writing materials, and any special or sacred objects they would like to have with them during this retreat.

Is there Wifi and Phone range?

There is no Wifi at the venue. There is some phone range for people using the Telstra network. We encourage people to unplug as much as possible during the week. If people need to be able to reach participants in an emergency, we can give them Phoenix’s mobile number or the venue’s landline number. If people need to get online at weekends, the public library in Echuca has Wifi facilities.

I’ve never done anything like this can I still attend?

Yes. If you have any questions about your suitability to attend please call Phoenix on 0407 650026 or click here to contact us to discuss this. .

How far away medical facilities and shops?

There is a small camp kiosk at the venue, otherwise Echuca/Moama is the best option for shops, doctors and a hospital. It is 30 minutes drive from the venue.
