Trauma-informed Spaces
When we say we are trauma-informed, what does that actually mean? Safety: Ensuring that you feel physically and emotionally safe. This does not mean you will always feel safe because of personal factors, what you carry in with you and occasional mistakes by us, but that you are essentially safe. Trustworthiness: We try. We may not always get close to the mark but we believe that listening and understanding where you are at helps us to maintain a helpful level of trust. Choice: It is up to you to participate as much or as little as you want. Collaboration: Healing is a journey together. Trauma-informed is not an end state, but a process.
